After installing Paint Protection Film (PPF), many installers and vehicle owners encounter bubbles underneath the film. The most common question is: will these bubbles disappear automatically?

- The Formation Mechanism of PPF Bubbles
Most PPF installations adopt the wet application method. Slip solution is sprayed to adjust film positioning. Even with thorough squeegeeing, tiny amounts of moisture may remain trapped between vehicle paint and PPF adhesive layer.
High-quality aliphatic TPU features micro-permeability. Trapped moisture evaporates gradually under heat, accumulating to form visible water bubbles.
We classify PPF bubbles into two core categories:
1.1 Water Bubbles (Wet Bubbles)
These bubbles look cloudy, hazy with soft edges, normally appearing within 1–30 days after installation.

1.2 Dry Air Bubbles

Note: Massive new bubbles emerging months after installation are abnormal. They are usually caused by wax/oil residue on paint surface, or adhesive degradation of low-quality PPF. - Can Different Bubbles Be Eliminated?

Small water bubbles usually fade within 2–6 weeks under sunlight and normal temperature.
Critical Warning: Do NOT pierce bubbles with needles!
Needle holes permanently damage the TPU surface, triggering water stains, yellowing and edge lifting. Let moisture evaporate naturally. Large-scale water bubbles require professional reheating and re-squeegeeing.
❌ Dry Air Bubbles & Dust Bubbles: Cannot disappear on their own
